"This session demonstrates how varying the amount of swing phrasing is an essential skill in creating different grooves in several genres (e.g., funk, rock and roll, hard rock). Adding musical characteristics and nuances, increased awareness of phrasing dramatically enhances students’ performances. These pedagogical practices offer tools for elevating band education.
